Microclimate Medicine:
Holistic Health for a Changing World
I specialize in promoting wellness and lifestyle in resonance with seasonal climate.
Observing the changing climate patterns of my home in the Willamette Valley, I was inspired to tailor my acupuncture and herbal medicine to address the health impacts of climate irregularities and extreme weather.
Whether you suffer from chronic illness made worse by extreme climate conditions or are experiencing new symptoms as a result of environmental stresses, such as wildfire smoke, I am here to help.
Willamette Valley Acupuncture was founded on the belief that truly holistic medicine must treat the total person: body, mind and spirit, and also take in to account the environment a person is living in. As winters get colder, summers get hotter and weather events year round become more extreme, our bodies’ ability to adapt is stressed, leading to pain, physical illness and psycho-emotional distress.
This distress takes many forms: have you been experiencing allergies for the first time? Chronic digestive or respiratory issues that were never a problem before? Insomnia, anxiety, brain fog or headaches that won’t go away? These all can be signs the body’s adaptive capacity is stressed.
Tackling these issues one-by-one can be overwhelming, but with the holistic approach of acupuncture, herbal medicine and guidance for healthy seasonal living it is possible to support individual adaptation to the changing environmental conditions and build up resilience to external stressors.
My work specializes in the microclimate of the Willamette Valley. This allows for on-the-ground responses to the specific environmental stresses affecting my community. I work individually with my patients to grow the internal strength and flexibility needed to face changing environmental conditions now and into the future with health and stability.

“Since ancient times, the connection to heaven has been the foundation of all life. Due to our vital connection to heaven, our mind becomes calm when the sky is clear and blue. If we go along with the changes that heaven brings, our vitality will be stable and firm. Even if there are pathological influences present, they will not be able to cause harm. This is the beneficial result of following the energetic rhythm of the seasons. ”
